Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 87 points

  • Rich garnet. Quite a meaty nose; cassis, vanilla, and herbal complexity. Bright and rich, with a hint of smoke. Full and round fruit taste, but wrapped in tart, assertive young tannins. More herbal complexity (I'm tempted to say mint, knowing that it contains a lot of cabernet, but I can't say that was what I perceived). Opens up a bit after a while in the glass, but this is rather too young for now. Much later, dark chocolate is detectable. A very dry, but promising wine. If you must serve it, decant a few hours before opening to give it a chance. Potentially several points higher in a few years. [13.5% abv; 46% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon, 14% malbec; ~£11, The Vintage House, Soho]
