Quite tart. Red fruit. Maybe, OK, I know it’s not red, blueberry. There is “sweetness” to the berry flavor, but it is not too serious. There also seems to be some “spiciness”—not pepper or anything like that, but, more, a suggestion of cinnamon or cumin—OK, maybe it’s a texture thing more than a taste—like these powdered spices have been dissolved in the wine. This is a pretty good wine. I’m not going to rush out and buy more, but, all in all, I’m OK with what I paid for this one.

Ruby red in color. 13.3% ABV. Dusty red fruits, spice and a touch of leather on the nose. Medium body with ample acidity. Light, lively and incredibly refreshing. Bing cherries, raspberry liqueur and boysenberries on the palate. Fresh, low in alcohol yet packed with flavor. Zins just aren't made like this very often. Bravo. Drink over the next 2-4 years. Purchased for $25 on WineBid.
