A vertical of Joseph Swan Zins (Scott & Jo's): I think we all agreed the Stellwagon vineyard zins were a cut above the Mancini. Purple in color. The nose has black cherries, spice and a bit of bramble. On the palate, its good but lacking in something. Verve? Acidity? Not quite sure. Nice dark cherry fruit. Good finish. enjoyable wine for sure but not more. Picky, picky.

Medium red color. Nose erupts in raspberry, black pepper and herbs, simply no oak to be found. How nice. On arrival, medium-to-firm tannin and lifted acidity; structured for age. Flavors mathc the nose entirely,well-fruited and peppery. Medium finish, some bitterness (lots of stems unripe, as color doesn't suggest a too heavy skins extraction).

This wine improved over time. The cranberry-cherry flavors really started to pop after 30 minutes. Great stuff.

Deep, rich, colour. Baked berry fruit, liquorice, white pepper. Full bodied. Spicy, warm and mouth filling.
