Shows the cooler side of medoc. not a terribly expressive wine at this point. it's most likely well past its prime. Little of the earthy aromas I look for in older Medoc wines more like a faint wild rose. The tannins are soft and pleasant and, surprisingly, the palate shows more intensity than the nose suggested. Not that far removed from its prime. Drink up though.

Clear Garnet color with mature amber tones. Nose of honeysuckle and earth. Rich and smooth tannins. Wine is rounded and medium full bodied. Creamy ripe cherry and vanilla in the mouth.Nice blend of grapes with Merlot bringing out the fruit foward taste and the Cab S giving the wine layers and the cab franc giving a subtle spice.Drink now - at its prime

"Stick with it, dedication to the bottle will pay off." The wine was subtle at first. I had been saving the bottle for quite awhile, so I had high expectations. I opened it and let it rest for only 10 minutes or so. I was getting some fruit and cheese together and started sipping while I worked. I was disapointed. It had no bad taste, but it really had not much taste at all. Nose had a bit of sweet pepper, but not a lot going on. I eventually had the wine open for an hour and sat down and could really taste it. The tastes were subtle, like reduced capers, sweet peppercorns, earthy - tobacco tastes. Perhaps it was the time resting, or just that I paid more attention.

Had no "kick". Hard to describe. Ok to drink but can easily a forgetable wine. I have 3 more bottles, so we will see if the next bottle is better.
