Much better than my last bottle, this was really rather good - soft ripe fruit, less spicy than before, well-rounded and charming, whilst sturdy enough to warrant more cellaring as it may even get better.

Une belle surprise ! Apparence rouge pourpre très dense. Nez riche, prune, cacao, boite à cigare.

Stewed fruit on the nose, dark cherries, cinnamon, earth. Nice bite to it, proper Medoc cut, still quite a bit of tannin but it’s smooth and relaxes quite quickly to reveal dark chocolate and plenty of cooked fruit and baking spices with a leathery finish with that chocolate note coming through. Good freshness here too. Drunk with cottage pie , a great combination. This is much better than I expected. Mature Medoc with plenty to give for £17. Bargain. I like the style, generous but classic, non excess alcohol or oak.

Still quite firm. I have one bottle left. Will see how long I can hold on to it.
