  • Opened this before starting dry February … holly molly what an astonishingly beautiful bottle of wine. This is just so captivating from start to finish. I just could not wait to take another sip after another as i did not want to loose the taste which is outworldly. Never thought Riesling could be this good

  • #15-98, 8.5% abv. From half-bottle. Pretty much almost at BA/eiswein intensity here; this is Prädikat creep in the best sense of the word. The nose has a very lovely herbal element, as well as some fresh stone fruit. The palate is where this truly comes alive though -- absolutely intense and concentrated, with power that far surpasses the Auslese designation. Kaleidoscopic in its complexity. The amount of extract and acidity here are off the charts for this bottling. And yet at the same time, this retains that ethereal quality that Terry Theise always talks about. It's the same sense of airiness that wowed me the first time I had a Dönnhoff, and it's the same sensation that keeps me coming back for more. Still very youthful and if I hadn't decided to pop the cork tonight I think this easily could last another decade or two. Probably the best vintage of the Brucke Auslese I've ever tasted.
