From 6L, deep red in color with some bricking. Great nose with ripe plummy fruit, spices, damp earth, herbs and dried meat. Palate with slight secondary flavors, ripe fruit, very slight rusticity and medium finish.

La Paulee Gala (San Francisco CA): Ripe fruit on the nose with rustic earthy aromas. Also ripe on palate and easy to enjoy. I'd have like to have seen a bit more complexity.

Exceptionally well stored. Pretty much perfect fill. Full of life. Sort of Dujacy strawberry across the palate. Wonderfully aromatic. All with a certain lightness on the palate as contrasted to a density you find more frequently in modern red burgundy. Who was it said Chambertin is an iron fist in a velvet glove? This wine is a great Clos des Mouches in a velvet glove. Many fewer velvet gloves in modern red burgundy.
