Deep ruby red with pink rim. Redcurrant, cassis, dark cherry, raspberry, violet, spices, earth and wood. Medium-high acidity, medium-high tannin. Good structure. Long tannic finish.
Breathed for 3 hours in bottle before drinking. Approachable now but the soil note in mid-palate was still compact, and would need more cellar time to develop.

Meritage: Joseph Drouhin Dinner with Laurent Drouhin (Meritage, St. Paul): Dark red color. Drank a glass over 40 minutes at the Meritage/Drouhin dinner. Gorgeous spices, black cherry, blackberry, tart, nice sous bois notes, still young obviously, but the fruit and texture shines already, deep and layered, needs to shed that youthful herbaceousness yet. 92-93pts.

2023 La Paulee Grand Tasting of 2020 Burgundy (Pier 60, New York): Ruby. Ripe bitter cherry and soil with excellent depth. Medium plus weight. Not as explosive as a bottle in Beaune last fall, but this still shows every sign of this being an outstanding year for the red Clos des Mouches.
