Color: deeply golden with no browning. Slightly cloudy indicating it may be a bit tired, but beautiful in the glass.
Nose: Pineapple, apples, beautiful vanilla bean and spice, and a butterscotch/caramel element. Palate: rich and broad on entry with roasted pinrapple, nut notes, all spice and buttery texture. Bit of a yellow pepper note and mint beneath the rich up front flavors.
The illusive first vintage of this wine was a real treat. Showing remarkable freshness for a 31 yo Chardonnay and no oxidative notes. Drink up if you have it. The energy is waning here, but this bottle was quite tasty.
