A surprising disappointment. I liked this in the tasting room when we picked it up at the winery but it just didn't come together. Instead of dark and brooding, it was fat and flabby. Maybe too warm...

Popped & poured. Initially spice and cocoa. Those give way to dark fruits, blackberries/cherry/plum. Sweet dark fruits and cocoa on the palate. Medium acids, Medium+ dusty tannins. Medium to medium+ finish. Does not improve on 2nd day. (50+5+13+16+6)

Very dark color. Barnyard and dark plum aroma. Smooth on the initial taste. A little acidic imbalance. Not much to speak of in the middle. Decent finish.

(Chateau Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon Cold Creek Vineyard Columbia Valley) An aromatically alluring wine with dark cherries, cocoa, butterscotch, and sweet spices. The palate is rich, ripe, and high octane, showing some warmth on the finish. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged 21 months in French (58% new) and American (18% new) oak. 15% alcohol. 5,000 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.

Big assertive aromas, swirling from glass
Direct, not particularly complex, lots of warm powerful fruit

$73 for a $25 wine in a Vegas Brazilian steakhouse. Very drinkable but the fruit was lacking any complexity or oak. Hard to tell it was cab.
