  • This wine is way over the hill and really not worth drinking useless you like your wines dry and smoky. Whatever bottle aging did it took out most the tannins and nearly all the fruits. On the nose it has a strong pine oil campfire like smoke and dried old cigar. My the mouth it sucks up all the moisture from you like a sponge. If you can get pass all this there's also some wet cedar plank to finish which I find rather pleasant.

I gave this wine a low score because I don't like dry wines and I especially don't like smoky Cab Sauv. If you like this style of wine then I'd say it's close to a 94-95 point wine. It just doesn't do it for me.

  • This was pretty good. Only a little brick colour on the rim. Nose showed some signs of maturity but had still lots of cherry and plum fruit. Palate was dry, but still had nice sweet blackcurrant and berry fruit along with juicy acidity that foiled very well with a grilled ribeye. Finish had dry, soft tannins with still a little sweetness. This was probably about peak drinking.

  • Tasted blind with the usual Friday group at Vintage Wines, Ltd. Bottle brought from the personal cellar of Ken Johnson. Deep ruby with a red/orange rim. The nose shows intense aromas of cigar box, chocolate, coffee and plum. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with good acidity and medium, supple tannins. Similar flavors as for the nose. Medium, smooth finish.

  • Wow, what a difference 3 years makes. The boquette is slightly oaky, but it evaporates in a minute. Very full with black currant and dark smoky fruit. Full in the mouth with a moderate finish.

  • Very closed in and tannic. Black currant and cherry flavors with light oak. Unable to tell how the wine will change over time.
