  • Dinner at Terroir (Utrecht, NL): [Restaurant purchase] at restaurant Terroir, Utrecht. No detailed notes. Great wine, sweetness and acidity perfectly balanced, the clarity is obvious

  • Prior bottle was a bit over 2 years and 7 months ago and the wine has taken a clear, positive step forward in that time, exceeding my expectations. White peach, white apple, crystalline white pineapple and a mix of minerals and spices on the very pretty and much more aromatic nose. Medium bodied (8% ABV) with white peach and white apple upfront, moving to yellow orchard fruit through the middle. There are tropical hints in the background and depth overall was better than I recalled from my first bottle. Tart citrus (especially lemon) combined with general acidity provides better structure to go with the better defined fruit. Minerals and spice notes linger on the finish. In terms of evolution, there seemed to be more overall fruit complexity, acidity was better this time and the balance between fruit and acidity was also improved. The result was a wine that felt deeper with lots of fruit, but enough acidity such that it never felt truly, overtly "sweet". Based on these notes, this wine is only getting started and I'll wait until at least November 2024, perhaps even Summer 2025 for my next bottle.

  • 4/7/23 Riesling Tasting (Vinum): Drank alongside of a total 18 Rieslings, starting from dry to sweet.

Tertiary notes starting to show more here versus the 2018 Kabinett. Honey, straw and hay, dried yellow peaches and dried apricot, and a brisk minerality (although not as much as the Kabinett). Really delicious, a classically aged Prum showing the beauty of ageing Auslese.

  • Drinking very well, aromatic nose of ripe apple, honey, candied citrus and ginger. Very fresh on the palate with mostly primary characteristics, definite sweetness but acidity cleans the palate nicely

  • Hard to grade, to little experience in this wine type. Nice wine but not blown away.
