Very advanced in all respects for a 2009 Barolo, but not really tired. The flavour profile has distinct tertiary elements (beef stock, cocoa, white nuts and undergrowth), but there is some fresh fruit left, the weighty palate (14.5% ABV) is a bit low on energy and the tannins are sticky but not too dominant, the dried fruit finish indicates full maturity. No need to keep this any longer. I should note however that it holds up well for two days in the open bottle, so there is no real hurry either.

Historic winery run by owner Gian Battista Alessandria, his wife Flavia, brother Alessandro and son Vittore.
A(ccuracy)=2: Modern style with traditional methods! B(alance) =3: Approachable but awaits resolution. C(omplexity)=2: Floral with red fruits, spices and tobacco. D(epth) = 1 : Medium, bit lean.

A bit advanced in color. Rich and well structured with cocoa and black cherry notes.
