effusive aromas with pine and black cherry, some rose. deeper bodied than the monvigliero, with notes of licorice and a slight bitterness (not unpleasant). moderate tannins and medium acidity. 93+

Wanted to try one of these early just out of curiosity. It was way to young as anticipated, but really still pretty enjoyable. The nose was beautiful classic Barolo; red fruit, a hint of citrus, lots of tobacco and tar and earth, a bit of mint; the concentration is quite nice and the tannins while quite prominent are fairly refined and with food this is almost drinkable now. Improved over 2 hours; held half for the next day.

2019 Barolo Check in (My place, Portland OR): The nose is deep and savory with a lot of layering already in this beautiful stage. There’s a lot going on here with deep, dark tones of red cherries, dark red berries, cranberries, plums, licorice, roasted herbs, and violets. The full bodied feel is well balanced, polished, and deep a lot of youth to high tannins and mouthwatering, high acidity. The structure is certainly youthful, but it’s not overpowering. Simply put, this is an absolute beauty already

2019 Barolo Tasting (K&L): This felt like a traditional Barolo, but definitely had more of a fruit presence than the '19 Ratti Marcenasco or the '19 Vajra Bricco delle Viole; it felt a little slick in comparison to those two wines. Still relatively austere, but if I had to drink a traditionalist '19 right now, this would be it (but it really needs more time).

A much more savory offering than the Verduno bottlings. Nettle, each, savory herbs, iron, tar, and balsam. Dark bnebioo fruit, more sturutred and firm. Vertical and imposing. this will give a lot but is going to need time. 93+++
