Think I paid more than anyone on the planet when I had the 2009 in Dubai at a top restaurant and enjoyed it. This is very similar but is less focused. But only a touch. I gave the 2009 a 92 and this a 91.
It needs an hour and the focus improves. Then there's big fruit and importantly that sour tensile tannin. In Aus it's like a vein of electricity (which is awesome) beautifully juxtaposing the fruit, whereas in France it's sour but not counterbalancing anything and just miserable.
This is good. Lehmann is the man.
Should add that my wife noticed pronounced wood. In the wine that is. Good call, there is a tonne. Unravell it and built a barn.

Needs a very long decant or several more years. Oak is extremely dominant otherwise; the fruit does come through with some time though and the wine is reasonably well balanced with a nice finish. Decent wine, but not great QPR in my opinion.

Thought about a Napa cab tonight but the acidic focus of this Aussie fruit hit the spot and made my feet go numb.

Loved on day 1. Bit dry on day 2. Good structure though but something is missing for me.
