Cote Rotie Double Blind (Chicago): Side-by-side with the 2009 base Cote Rotie and this showed more complex and ready. Very traditional in style -- olives, pepper, bacon on the generous nose. Palate is youthful and rich, but already showing nice character and complexity. Plenty of stuffing and balance to age. Upside from here as this continues to gain nuance and depth.

Still a bit young, but it was hard not to enjoy the bright, crisp red fruits, cracked pepper, earth and kiss of smoke. Polished and classy, this elegant, medium/full bodied, kirsch packed wine needs a few more years in the cellar before it really pops.

Nez violettes classique. Très belle texture, aérienne, c’est fin et équilibré. Pop and pour, il méritait meilleur traitement. 93 pts

Double Blind Côte-Rôtie Tasting (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): Double blind in Côte-Rôtie tasting, alongside the 2009 regular cuvee. Red and black cherry with good weight, better length. Nicely finessed. Very good already now.

My first of this bottling, and it was exactly as hoped. Pepper, smoke, some crunchy dark berries and a touch of pastille.
