Finally nearing maturity. As this was the 4th bottle from a case bought in ‘15 - it’s the first which was really in a good place - and provided much enjoyment. On the lighter side of Nuit , nice round with a nice amount of dark red berries and some lift.

Nice stuff. Relatively simple and straight forward. Good Salinity. Crunchy red fruit. Very gentle for Gouges but I haven't had many of his village wines.

Coravin’d a glass - beautiful transparency, nice crunchy red berries- a bit more accessible than previous tries- seems less flat and dumb - nice wine - a bit simple. 10/17 - Coravin'd another large glass tonight and found it much more expressive, fruit forward with Structure moving to the back - just a touch of wood still showing - very fine grained tannins with a nice clean finish. But better - Raising my score - (is that right?)

Elegant is perhaps the best single descriptive word for this NSG. Very light in color. Perfumed aromas of red cherry fruit. Some sous bois and smoke. Palate is light on the initial attack, but then passes through a much richer core, before tapering off after a reasonably (and surprisingly) long finish. Actually improved and felt 'bigger' with 2-3 hours of air time.

Red fruit: cherries and raspberries, salinity, good density and length, has developed very well the last two years.
