Christmas Wimps 2023 - Clean Bandit (La Trompette): A bit meaty, earthy - an almost blood-and-soil Cornas like character to it. I like these characteristics very much in cornas but somehow didn't get on with them here - would be interested to taste again to see if I am able to appreciate this style more...

Christmas Wimps (La Trompette, Chiswick): Pale/medium garnet core, wide pale rim. Quite dark fruited, meaty notes, earth. Medium/full bodied, meaty dark fruits, a bit muddy, firm tannins, crisp acidity becoming more dominant with time in glass, touch astringent on the finish. Not sure about this, a bit disappointing for what it is.

Lovely to drink but too light with a lack of the warmth, richness and strength associated with a beze. Drunk with a chanson beze 12 and Maume mazis chambertin 11 and not in the same league. The more recent DLs are a different league. After all that, wouldn’t throw this out of bed so to speak

Røde bær rett fra flaska, etter hvert mer skogbunn og modningsaromaer. Litt julekrydder. Rund og fin i munnen, med deilig fløyelskonsistens. Litt mindre konsentrert enn gårsdagens clos vougeot 2010, frukten sklir over i rips og plomme. Like fullt en deilig vin.

Christmas Cornucopia WIMPS #172 14th December 2023 (La Trompette, Chiswick): Leaner and brighter and more citrussy than the Vosne 1er it is served with. Not in a great place right now, this is a little disjointed. Air doesn't really help.
