Medium garnet. Pronounced. Generous and perfumed. Black cherries, strawberries, sweet spices and integrated new oak flavours. Earthy with some lifting orange zest and leafy, savoury notes. Complex. Med+ tannin, firm. Med+ acidity. 13% abv. Long. Outstanding.
NB: The 2014 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru includes 45% whole bunch fruit and was matured in 60% new oak.

TN: Dinner at Tiny Lou's: Opened 2 hours prior. Initially a bit tight, but opened with more time in the glass. Good, round fruits, lovely weight and body and a nice acid spine. It's a bit fleshier with a lack of structure compared to the Rousseau.

Burgundy Tasting (Bistro Cocotte, Haberfield): Smells young, rich, blackberry fruit, spice, cedar and concentrated without being over ripe. In the mouth it's dense, rich and, again, concentrated without being over ripe, dark fruits, plenty of tannins, balanced, long, lovely.

Decanted. Dark ruby. Nose is a bit muted but slightly opened up to reveal cranberry and pencil lead. Palate is lighter than expected for a GC of this status but is pleasant with bright acidity, tart red berries and a somewhat brief finish. Delightful to drink but no one would confuse this with a top tier GC. Should develop with more time but doesn't show the stuffing for the long haul.
