New Year's Eve dinner tasting. Brief note. Deep and profound alongside dry aged rib roast. Tart cranberry, tart and tannic pomegranate, raspberry zinger tea, animale, raisins and prunes in a good way, mushrooms, damp foggy mountainside, German baking spice. Very perfumed and masculine and elegant all at once. Finishes long and complex with orange peel, brown sugar, toffee, and rich date cake. Just gorgeous.

special treat from ESTEELE90's grandfather's collection. Caramel brown color. Nose mushroom, good complexity. Palate still bright, earth/dusty red cherries, slightly raisiny flavor at times. Surprisingly still vibrant and alive. Very enjoyable and a unique experience. Drink now if you happen to have a bottle :)

Dinner at Bistro Jeanty with Trevor. What a shame! Just a touch corked. Brownish red, yet opaque. Fruit and acid were balanced perfectly but the cork taint just didn't allow for what would have been an incredible experience.

belated bday dinner for ESTEELE90 (Kali Restaurant, Los Angeles, CA): significant sediment. Nose earthy, red fruits. Palate light maple note, some red cherries, herbal. Still chugging along but more interesting than pleasurable, I think. 90 pts
