  Compared to the Volnay 2009 we drunk before this wine, the Chambolle was a bit disappointing. Not as fresh and fruity. Less elegance, less special. Perhaps still a bit too young?

  Still has years to go but nicely drinkable now. With roasted chicken, corn, green beans and sweet potato on the deck.

  Un nez si expressif que ça crie Chambolle! Ensuite, le côté sérieux en bouche, les tannins maîtrisés, la longueur impressionnante crient "Mme Barthod"! Quel vin! Ça bat des grands crus de plusieurs domaines!

  1hr decant, drank over next 2hr. Aroma of overripe bing cherry, a little strawberry, subtle mint, subtle cinnamon bubble gum. On the palate the first hit is tart cranberry and cherry, giving way to pure cherry (red and black) in a concentrated, yet light on its feet way. Medium+ acidity. A bit of spice on the finish, which is lengthy and does not have alcoholic heat. A pleasant and stony mouthfeel. A bit much cranberry for my palate. 92-93, and I think the difference is how you perceive the fruits on such a young wine. But there is a lot going on, and a lot going had me excited so I go 93. Next bottle in 10 years not 5, and strikes me the score could improve 1-2 points from here.
