Had next to the 1996 Barthod Chambolle village. Richer and more open. This lieux-dit is next to Morey-St-Denis and it shows with some earthiness and structure I associate more with that village, though after several hours of air, this is more Chambolle-like than Morey-like. Still a pretty tasty drink and on the up slope for a few more years, I think.

Mature translucent colour, tawny at the rim. A lovely aroma of incense and violets gives way to a savoury palate with meaty and beetrooty notes and a long finish replete with dark fruit. Very smooth and elegant.
