A surprising showing for this second bottle. This wine is drinking rather young with exuberant dark fruit and a purple hue that shows no signs of age. While the fruit is delicious, outside of a bit of licorice, there is little in the way of herbs and spice to distinguish the bottle. Tasted alongside a 1999 Clos du Mont Olivet CdP, it gets the same score, but for very different reasons. (88)

Seemed quite nice, bit rustic

Soft and ready to drink. Liked it supple texture. Lacking some grip on the finish, but plenty of fruit and spice coming through.

Vieux Telegraphe Dinner with Henri Brunier's daughter Catherine (Backstreet Wine Salon, Phoenix): This is a bottling of the young vines of Vieux Telegraphe named for the house where Catherine’s brother Frederick lives (located in the middle of the vineyard on the La Crau plateau if I am not mistaken). A very spicy wine with much less finesse than its big brother.
