This was the third in a sequence, after the 2011 Ribbon Ridge and the 2010 Armstrong, and it occupied some of the ground between those two -- more body than the very light 2011, more red fruits than the richer 2010. Also delicious and youthful.

At first sip I was like, wow this is serious. There is an impressive amount of structure, acidity, and freshness for a wine this age. It never truly fleshed out and opened up, suggesting its best days are ahead. I should probably push my drinking windows for these wines 5-10 years out.

Medium ruby, garnet with nose of red currants and sorrel. Dry with light fruit and body, smooth with light acid and well integrated tannins. Soft mouth feel and drinking very well now. Some leather three nights later, fruit and body putting on weight, more akin to a BdM tonight than a PN. I can live with that. This is one good bottle of wine, Vincent always over delivers. The '13s started out lean and austere, but are developing into a really good place with 5 years past vintage age. One left out of three, and I only paid $20, should have bought a case at that price.

This is coming along nicely. No hurry to drink them if you have them.

Third night of tasting. It was good the first night but has really evolved now. A most excellent example of OR PN. And the price is hard to beat.
