Clear pale ruby; clean medium nose of strawberries and red currants; dry; high acidity; high tannins; medium plus alcohol; medium plus body; medium plus flavour intensity; plate is tarter with screaming acidity; long finish; tasted non-blind at LCBO dinner

Blind Jadot Tasting (Chez Kailin): Served blind. A very young and lifted nose with primary red cherry and florals. Palate has silky, smooth and rich red cherry fruit with more florals. Great fruit and intensity here, though quite youthful. I was guessing younger Volnay given the red fruit and florals -- wrong again. My #4, Group #4.

Jadot Blind Tasting and Dinner (Chez Kailin - Northbrook IL): Tasted blind. Spice driven nose, still showing a bit of new oak that I expect will integrate shortly. Red fruit and some black with very elegant textures. Graat spice, including fascinating black pepper throughout. Very young and spicy, I thought this 2010 Echezeaux. Another controversial wine tonight, with several experienced Burg drinkers ranking it at/near the top, while others considering it in the middle.

Darker nose, well perfumed with soft cherry and raspberry. vibrant palate, softer tannin, medium + ripe berry finish...open for business.

Clos Vougeot horizontal: 33 wines from the 2013 vintage (Fine+Rare Wine London): This starts out fine, with a promising attack but then is a bit steely and lacks enough ripe fruit to be really appealing. After some time in glass, it remained steely and austere. A disappointing showing from a top producer!
