  VERY subtle nose at first, barely showing anything besides light notes of cured meat and wisps of reddish berry fruit, barely discernable - after 45 mins in the decanter the nose opened slightly, showing really clear black licorice, mint, a kiss of faintly sweet plum, some minerals, maybe the faintest musty quality. Still super subtle but with interesting characteristics.
  
  Palate was a lot more present, with very silken, elegant tannins that increased gradually in intensity (ending up a little chalky), and a great pop of fresh, brambly, tart raspberry/blackberry, medium plus acidity. Not a very long finish but certainly fresh and fun.
  
  In general I wish it was a bit more expressive- was a little unpredictable and unusual too (especially with the nose hiding a lot of detail), but thankfully still undeniably delicious and showing some cool subtleties.
