Tour of Asia Dinner at Chez David's (David's Place, Mpls): Medium dark red color. PNP, drank 1 glass over an hour plus. Earth, currants, soil, a bit dank on an interesting nose. The palate shows sour red fruits, soil, the same dank earth and a medium body.

My last of 3, and by the far the best, most complete wine yet. Grabbed this off of winecommune 5 years ago. Fast forward and now you have a wine of good/great poise. Not sure if it's the vintage, the cork, the pick date, or all three, but this was just lovely. Medium- body, perfect, fluid lines, feminine build, with soil and spice notes that kept my interest (and still have my interest, some 3 days later). 13,0% abv., drink thru 2020. recommended
Slow-O 2 hours, served non-blind.

PnP, served non-blind across 2 nights. One of the earthiest wines I can recall. I didn't quite get the candied fruits others spoke of, I sensed they were there, but I never actually found them. Instead, this is all about place, at least it was on the night. Wet mushrooms, barn, some stemmy notes, horse poop, and wet leaves. High acids proved off-putting to some, but that just left more for me. Not anything I can get excited about today, but I'm confident I'll feel differently in 4-5 years when I open my final bottle. 13,0% abv, drink thru 2019

Great expressive dark nose. Basil, raspberries and perfume. Lovely intensity. A wine I will return to again and again.
