Went to great trouble to carefully decant it and serve at the right temperature only to have it close up...an hour later, it finally re-emerged.. Starting to show its age but the texture is beautiful, nice earthy and spicy aromas if little fruit, but at 30 years we shouldn't be looking for fruit anyway... Will drink last bottle soon.

Not easy to evaluate at this point. This wine has quite a bit of suspended solids. It would need to stand upright for days prior to opening. It has clearly peaked and starts to show early signs of minor oxidation because of its limited tannin structure. The aromas are very nice, mostly on the straw and very evolved cherries and plums. Drink up!

This bottle delivers far more that anyone should expect . It also reflects the greatness of the 1990 vintage in Burgundy. The color is still excellent with just a beginning of amber forming at the rim. Perfectly balanced wine with very pleasant array of fruit, spice and sousbois. Moderate alcohol and oak; sufficient acidity. Decent length and pleasant, clean finish. An absolute bargain, which is exceedingly rare in Burgundy. Drink over next 3 years

Same btl as R&Rler. This came at the end of the night and fortunately, we had some tuna to pair it with. Very youthful color. This is a fairly low key, no fanfare, appellation though and the wine is not destined for greatness. Just resolved and a fun wine to try. Shows a bead of minerality. 89+

Eight Killer Starter Whites & a Token Red (Oceanaire, Mpls, MN): Medium dark red color. PNP, drank 1 glass over 40 minutes. A token red at the end of a spectacular night of whites. Pretty youthful fruit for 27 years, bright nose and deep berry fruits on the palate, almost sappy, with a nice sauvage note on top. Fun wine to end the night. Thanks for the bonus Dave!
