Day 2: Rich and vibrant with tart red berry, dried cranberry, menthol, cola, vanilla and earthy spice notes. Finishes long with complexity and grace. Last bottle. Drink or hold.

Consumed on New Year's Day out of a magnum that was purchased directly from the winery. Decanted for 2 hours, poured back into the bottle then decanted a second time at the table for immediate consumption out of Sensory stems and paired with maple smoked pork roast.
This was my 4th bottle and the best one yet. Color was crimson (red/purple). The aromas were of red cherries, spice and minerality. The palate was of red and dark cherries, spice and white pepper, possibly due to the whole clusters. The wine is well balanced with the acidity and tannins integrated and in perfect harmony. It is a mature pinot noir in it's prime drinking window. However, there are several years left at its peak if you want to cellar for another half decade(+).
My score is a 94+

Clear garnet. Red cherry & cedar aroma. Tastes of red cherries with good acidity macerated in light brown sugar. Light tannins, followed by a cedar spice finish with moderate length. Moderate body. This is showing beautifully right now.

Dehlinger is great and this is one of their best but a lot of great wines on the table and a lot going on. Happy I have more.

In a great spot. Tom Dehlinger deserves a lot more attention that he gets.
