The most high toned wine of tonight. The reddest fruit, brightest acidity and a hint of tart to it. That resolves over time, yet the wine remains high toned and red fruited. This is a much better drinking experience than the last bottle 18 months ago. Medium bodied, minimum barrel spice. A nice wine.
I tried this wine again after having it for the first time 14 months ago. This is a very well made wine.... Rich concentrated dark and wild berry fruits with a little bit cooked quality. Intense and held together well with nice acidity (particularly for a merlot) and high ripe tannins. Secondary notes of coconut oil and toasted oak are strong but beautifully balanced with the fruit and really add rich flavor and aroma to the wine. While these secondary qualities often ruin a wine, they work well in this one. Should get even better integrated in time.
Lovely wine. Drank over an 2 hour window so I didn't get to see how it would have evolved. Drinks like a cab lovers merlot. Looking forward to the next bottle.

A nice wine. A very nice wine. But a $140 wine? Eh....I'm still having a hard time getting enthused about this entry.....seems like a bit of a stretch. There is great silky fruit here, smooth tannins and a well-integrated acidity. It drinks way too easy and goes very well with a pan-seared ribeye and baked potato with Irish butter......but it just doesn't have any power, any verve if you will. For this price point, it should have some verve, IMO.

Solid bottle on day two/three for my palate. Rounded out nicely and gained some weight. Drink or hold.
