Other reviews get the notes right. Decanted for an hour. Drank over 4 hours. By the end, this was really singing. I'd recommend a solid half day or more slow ox on a future bottle.

1 hour decant in glass. Rich garnet bordering on purple with brick edge in color. Funky nose of fermenting hay, sous bois and plums. Palate: luxardo cherry, sweet tobacco and chinotto. Tannins are still grippy, perceived on gums, cheeks and tongue. Long dry finish of plum, wood spice and earth.

Big, complex wind of old-school taste; nose immediately says Barolo; in the glass, it may fool you with inky blackness; finish is unremitting; tannins are tamed; enjoy! 50/5/13/18/9

really like this wine... too early of course... decanted and had massive tannin in the first hour... then when had three hours later it had mellowed and was just barely 'of age'... tannin had receded, red fruit and tons of acidity... this is built for the long haul and I hope I wait on the others for at least another decade... also, just came back from Boston -- bought this at Sorriso Market a year ago, prices there have been marked up 100% or 150%... sad stuff
