Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 91 points

  • This wine is impressively alive, vibrant and fruity for already being 7 years off the vine. The fruit is just as fresh as the day it was crushed, but the aging process has raised the concentration and depth to more like that of a cherry or blueberry pie. The color is intense inky dark red. The very interesting nose has a potpourri of spices, dark fruit, tobacco, vanilla and smoke. Just as smooth and integrated as a wine can get. The oak, tannin, acid and alcohol have mellowed in harmony, to support of the immense dark fruit, rather than as individual characteristics. Close to full bodied. Not quite layered and concentrated enough for a really big score.
