Colorado Memorial Day Tasting; 5/26/2023-5/27/2023 (Longmont, Colorado): Medium garnet in color with some bricking. Aromas of red currant, mocha, huckleberry, and black licorice. Full-bodied, with boysenberry, lingonberry, and some chalky tannins. The first sips come across as an easy-to-drink Port, but the acidity seems just slightly out of balance. With more air, this is showing more and more like an off bottle.

Always delicious and stealing for the price. Decades to go.

Off list at Pappas Brothers. Brief impression. Aromas of plums, mild burnt sugar, and savory herbs. Palate with sweet, ripe mildly sugared plums and cherries, herbs. Nice acids with mild+ tannins. Full bodied with a moderately short finish. Nice balance here. Don't have much experience with vintage port but I think this is in its early phase of maturity given its still prominent sweetness and primary fruit.

First bottle was so good we recently popped a second. Excellent, intense Port that is still 20 years from peak. Silly value.
