My last bottle of this and probably the best. This was really well developed while still bright and fresh with anise and fruit notes of pineapple, pear, apple and lime. I was much impressed. A real surprise at age 8+. Especially considering the very modest “tariff” paid. Lovely.

Blind Tasting at Jim and Stacia’s (New Jersey, USA): Quickly decanted for air, then returned to bottle for transport to a tasting. Light to medium yellow with a green hue. Nose is a little smokey, nutty and grassy. Acidity is Medium+ with a very lean and dry mouth feel. Tart gooseberry and quince seem to be notable flavors after first opening. Lots of wet stones on the medium length finish. Balanced, light and refreshing.

Under screw. Pale yellow in the glass with barely any signs of age, tropical aromas are prevalent with white flowers, and just a touch of funk. On the palate, like practically every Jermans I have tried, this is delightful. Yes, it is a Pinot Grigio, a style that I despise, but this is much closer, at least in spirit, to the Alsatian Pinot Gris, which I adore. Relatively rich, with some muted tropical fruit, considerable minerality, and a dominate tartness. Why are other Italian Pinot Grigios more like this? thedrunkencyclist.com

Not quite into its second stage. Still fresh. Lovely with poached fish and fava beans with oregano and fresh olive oil.
