Jabot vs Faiveley (Bellyhappy Chef): Blind. Was surprise when this was revealed as 2014, thought it was the 2017 as it was drinking nicely and did not have the transparency or airy notes that comes with 2014. Cola, oak rather prominent, high tannins, fully body, grippy tannins, red cherry, raspberry.
Negoce face-off at Bellyhappychef: Similar to the other Faiveley Gevreys but didn’t have animale, sauvage notes of a typical Mazis. Made in a soft, charming manner with silky tannins, but with tightly coiled, nuanced red fruit. Needs a lot more time to unfurl as with the Jadot CV, but felt this was the more balanced wine.

Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner (Château de Meursault): Small pour from 3L. Wonderful expression of the 2014 vintage, fruit-centric with lots of nuance without too much extraction. Maybe not quite the concentration expected from Gevrey Grand Cru, but so elegant and nuanced, this is charming now with further upside from here.

Positives: complex and shifting palate, with blackcurrant, cherry, nail polish, chamomile, black tea, plum, mint, herbs, good acid, smooth tannins, mandarin peel. Lactic mouthfeel towards the end
Negatives: weak nose of cherry, roses, sauvage. Slightly pronounced alcohol. Some good elements but not integrated yet or may not integrate
