  • Dad gave me a bottle. Before this I've only had the 2010. It's clearly going to need some air, but definitely related to the 2010. Not as opulent or over-the-top, it still shows big shoulders and lots of ripeness. Tons of peach and peach pit, minerals. Some broth. Not overripe and it has good energy - not heavy. This less extreme version reminds me of Austrian Smaragds from the Ried Klaus in many ways. Very full in the mouth, huge saline minerality, lots of flavor, with good balancing acid and structure. There is a lot of ripeness and ripe fruit but it is focused with good verve. This is opening up well. The finish has the peach, the pits, the broth and the minerals but also some lime- really nice. I lean just a bit towards the just-slightly-sweet 2010 since it is so packed and crazy, but this is wonderful. Once again, this cuvee really delivers. Thanks dad! Nose - 5+?/6, Palate - 5+?/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17+?/20. (with 17-18/20 potential.)
