Having a look at previous TNs I'm not sure this was ever a wine to write home about. Austere fruits, a bit metallic; indeed I'd almost put in the Crozes camp in this respect. Well built but the flavour has little direction. That said, it has structure that suggests quite a few years ahead.

Mulberry, blackberry and/or boysenberry with some anise on the nose. Medium mouthfeel with some fine tannic structure remaining. Thin to medium bodied unremarkable palate of ripe dark fruit. Short to medium length clean finish. Throws a bit of sediment at the end. Paired with Teriyaki flank steak stir-fry.

{screwcap, 14.5$} Fairly dense in texture, but not especially flavourful. Or, perhaps, a bit closed. Mulberry, chocolate, blackberry. Not much oak evident. Lowish acid, mild dusty tannins. Not vibrant, but there's nothing terribly wrong with it; it just didn't sing for me somehow. Medium weight, dry. Probably would do better with time.

{screwcap, 14.5} Deep garnet. Slightly sour, brambly fruit, with gentle blackberry and peppery spice. Mild, light/medium-bodied palate, with low dusty tannins, minimum oak influence and very reticent fruit. You could describe this as dilute - thin would be a but unfair - but it's fairly well-balanced for an understated wine. Not unripe, just has a bit of a washed-out quality, emphasised by a very short finish.

Mostly in line with the previous tasting. Fruit has a more obvious pongy note but the astringent notes don’t help.
