Tl;dr: Big, complex but well rounded. Really needs air. Very good but maybe not quite worth the money.
This really needed some extended air to show its potential. I decanted it for 45 mins before drinking and, while pleasant, it was very closed on both the nose and palate.
The next morning (and in a larger glass) the nose had opened to a more intense (though still not knockout) and much more complex expression combining juicy black fruit with some oregano, chocolate and mint.
The flavor is similar but the chocolate is much more pronounced with some leather and biscuit - that combined with the plush, mouth coating tannins leave the impression of a dessert flavor, almost a bit port-y. A little salinity and some graphite too. The mouthfeel is quite big, clearly high alcohol, but it’s shot through with just enough acid to hold it in balance. Overall, the impression is a big, cozy wine, not a huge blockbuster. Finish is fairly long but quite subtle.

Smooth and integrated with polished/aged tannin. This is drinking at the spot I prefer now but plenty of years left. Red/black fruit, leather, and mineral. Dense but fresh compared to the SLV.
