At the moment the structure and power of this is almost overpowering. There is a big hit of tar here accompanied by fruits of the forest, red and black berries and a touch of perfume. Medium plus weight, massive structure of acidity and tannin. Long finish, already showing complexity. Wait to drink for at least 5 years, better still, wait a decade!

Burgundy vs Barolo: At first, this was my favourite with attractive, elegant red fruit and just the right amount of VA. With time it became more creamy, powerful and alcoholic. Guessed a modern Barolo producer from a warm vintage like 2012.

Restaurant Carlotto purchase, this was pleasant Nebbiolo, but never gained the density or weight that we hoped for - sweet cherry notes framed the still present tannins. Likely to improve with further age.

How much 2012 Barolo is too much 2012 Barolo (Noize): Quite Dark and extracted next to the Bartolo - not showing the same level of nuance an complexity either. Not in the same league as the best bottlings of this wine (eg 2010)

Medium garnet. Aromas of cherry, licorice, tobacco, vanilla. Balanced and big wine, plenty of ripe tanins. Long. Still very young.
