  • At Forslundska, after a Pinot Noir tasting with DVI.
Next to Zilliken Rausch Auslese GK 2010.
This one had a pear fruit focus and was a lot thinner than the Zilliken, not necessarily in a bad way, more depending on your preference.

  • Very drinkable at the moment. So concentrated. Apple, pear, peach, abricot, candied ginger etc. - no botrytis. A very nice acidity, luckily. Will hold forever.

  • Delicate and fresh including notes of kerosene. I loved it.
However as the choice for the Dessert - recommended by the sommelier - it was a disaster. Very sweet Rhubarb with ice. The wine completely lost it's intensity and faded away - 84/100p. He should have recommended a Beeren Auslese or Trocken beeren Auslese with more concentration

  • All whitefruit on the nose: pear, melon and peach coupled with citrus and floral qualities. You can almost "smell" the acidity. Medium bodied (7.5% ABV) with apple, pear and peach upfront. Mid-body shows considerably more depth, more peach, apricot and orange notes and hints of all the tropical fruit behind that are currently concealed. Backside shows a combination of citrus (lemon and lime), tart whitefruit and simply tremendous acidity. Not quite electric, but very close. Just the smallest touch of honey through the middle into the backside - you know this is an auslese based on richness, density and profile not overt sweetness at this stage. Almost a crime to open this so young as it will take years for the mid-body to fully open up and the complexity that it's hinting at now will be worth the wait. Next bottle for me no earlier than July 2022, perhaps later.
