No formal note. One hour decant. Good color and legs. Nose was typical Cristom. The palate was rather one-dimensional. The finish was short and not so sweet. Not as good as other Willamette valley '02's I've had recently.

Solid 2002 pinot; soft muted cherry flavors; shorter finish, but that's only relative; still good full flavor; excellent food wine; not going to age any more so drink up now

Dark garnet core with 3 well developed transitions and a watery edge. On the nose: ripe strawberry, cedar, spice, sandalwood and a bit of camphor. Medium body with a mildly fleshy mid-palate. Firm grape tannins add to the persistence and pleasure. Wine seems to be in balance but lacks structure - most likely vintage related. This will doubtless get any better with more time - it's elegant now, why wait?. 13.5% alcohol, drink thru 2010.

Fruity but lacks complexity. Tough year for Pinot noir.

16th Annual Lyon 10 Year Retrospective (Same Old Place): Just a very nice "typical" OPN w/ great balance. Good fruit berry fruit and medium body. Made people linger. Not particularly deep or complex.
