One of the most memorable of my Champagne experiences. Degorged in Jan 2004, purchased ex-cellars in Nov 2004. Stored in my cellar since. Gold colour, fine mousse. Intricate nose, very big, forward, plenty of oatmeal biscuits, flowers, ripe citrus fruit, oak (I may be mistaken but I definitely detect oak). Big, plush palate, pristine acidity backing up a myriad of flavours, the entire spectrum of citrus fruits, as well as chocolate, cherry, and toasted nuts. Long, convincing finish. What a treat. Incredibly complex and multi-layered. It drinks like a ripe Bollinger that has been sprinkled with 20 added nuances of flavours. Ready, but will survive.
