Blind Champagne Tasting--Bring A Bottle That Teaches Us Something: July 2022 disgorgement. The only approved varietal that was not present was I think the Pinot Gris, i.e Fromenteau. Not certain of the dosage here but my note says higher dose? Tangerine, green apple, and what Cris called banana in the aromatic, what was a good call, like a green banana. Some at the table were hard on this wine but ti seemed fine to me.

Served blind. A fun experiment but you have to ask to what end. The late disgorgement of 2022 is surprising. But why equal portion of each variety? At least one of those was picked pretty late and left to ferment too long. A strong diactyl, banana note on the nose that already showed ripeness. Funky, ripe on the palate too. Harsh at the finish with a strong sense of VA. I thought it might be a ringer of non-Champagne. This just didn't work for me at all.
