Paul brought this wine for my BD dinner in SH among the other 05' and Chambertins. Like other 05' vintage, this was also very difficult to open up but with a grand cru quality.

Served alongside the Jouan which is supposedly the source of this wine. The wine making and the ripeness was a bit more heavy handed than the Jouan. Somehow the wine felt riper and heavier. Good overall but without the transparency of the Jouan. No harm in opening these now as it was perfectly open and showing. Long life ahead.

A very fine Burgundy here but it's still coiled and not showing all its feathers yet. Deep, dark cherry fruit is balanced by strong acids and a finely-grained texture. Taut and intense on the finish with notes of minerals and an array of tantalizing spices. Needs another decade at least. 93+

A beautiful, pure expression of Clos St-Denis with spices on the nose, a medium-weight smooth texture with spiced red fruit flavors and good length. Cellared since original release.

This has just entered the drinking window with plenty of life ahead...deep ruby red color...beautiful floral, wet stone, sous bois aromas...on the entry there's gorgeous balance of cherry and raspberry flavors and Morey-ish spices. Love it and better than the Dujac version a friend of mine poured a few weeks before.
