  • Deep straw yellow color. Aromas of lemon oil dominate with a touch of warm baking spice, a hint of tropical fruit, honeycomb and chamomile. There’s a nice floral element as well. Rich texture, with lemon, dried honey, chamomile and lime flavors. Long finish. Sadly, our last bottle. This was a small sample poured off to check the bottle. The rest is back under cork and will be enjoyed with dinner in a little while.

  • 100% OLD OLD vine SB. Always a favorite...probably my most favorite SB...and imo Mondavi's best wine made. Brilliant metallic gold color....exotic nose of tropical fruit, citrus blossoms, crushed shale, dried honey, smoked pineapple, florals galor! Come on...domestic SB can't age?!? This thing is rich and alive...exotic with tropical fruits, as well as crisp apple, lemon and ginger. Has a killer distinct smoky, petroly thing going on....something you always find in these as well as the Reserve FB, but no other producers that I've ever had.....total To Kalon SB TERROIR! Crushed chalky minerals, vanilla hazelnut butter cream to it as well. Plenty fresh, and plenty complexities here.....one of the BEST bottles of these older I Blocks I've ever had!

  • Sunday Brown Bag Tasting: Mondavi Cabernet Reserve Vertical (Our house): Deep color. Aromas of honey, beeswax, lanolin and citrus with a smoky overtone. Reminds me of Kalin's Semillons. Rich texture, with honeyed citrus flavors and a long finish. Very unique- not something everyone will enjoy.

  • Starts off with some petrol/toast funk nose, along with exotic honey spices, floral blossom, honeysuckle, lemon/ginger, mineral. In the mouth, exotic flavors of spice, tropical fruits, lots of mineral and crisp citrus acidity...yet creamy with hazelnut butter, vanilla oak, earth truffle. A little bitters on the finish....the wine still feels fresh, yet shows aged complexities. Should hold well for a few more years....maybe decades?

  • Kept to long, still showed some citrus flavors and some acidity.
