A complex full bodied sauv blanc that will standup to the best sauv blancs in France, namely Didier Dagueneau’s wines. This needed about 30 min in the glass but improved throughout the night. A super crisp citrus centric wine that is meant to be drank at a sophisticated poolside luncheon. This is in or near its prime and will drink well for at least another 5-7 years. Revisit 2025.

This superb wine continues to evolve. Tastes of pineapple, lychee, and lemon grass, coupled with bracing acidity. My personal favorite in a comparison with the 2014 and 2015.

Always a unique wine, in 2016 the Fumé Blanc To-Kalon I Block shows pineapple, melon, lychee. The oak treatment is balanced, which is often what pushes me off these wines. Good acidity.

Another fascinating Mondavi To-Kalon I Block FB. Overtones of pineapple, lychee and melon with a nice bracing acid balance. This is a fun wine to drink at this stage, but knowing how long-lived these wines are, it will be interesting to see how it develops in the coming years.
