  Chiaras Via Nuova är ett helt fanatisk vin. Fullt av rosor, mint, tjära röd frukt och en perfekt ryggrad med tanniner. Ett vin att bli kär i som jag är glad att jag hsr många flaskor kvar att njuta av. Kanske den bästa årgången från chiara jag druckit so far. Helt klart i nivå med 2001 och 2004

  A strong showing for this wine. Tasted on opening in the morning and the aromatics were lovely - floral and menthol and cherry. In the mouth, tight but flavorful. Chose to decant all day - about 8 hours - and that was the right thing. Aromatics were the same slightly less menthol and more earthy cherry. In the mouth it was exceptional - the same earthy cherry from the nose plays out in the mouth along with a hint of tar. Balanced acid and tannin carrying a lengthy finish. The tannins are extremely fine-grained and still holding a bit of grip. A bigger, deeper Barolo than most, and certainly bigger than the Cannubi in 2013. Some strong sentimental attachment because we visited the winery and had the privilege of tasting with Chiara Boschis just before the 2013 harvest. The wine paired beautifully with sausage risotto on New Year’s Eve!
  I am in no hurry to drink any of these 2013s from E Pira.

  Big Bold fruit. Thick texture. high tannin as expected in a Barollo. Could use another 5 yrs before drinking. Probably not a 20yr wine though
