This is in a beautiful spot. Fully integrated fruits. Bright color and taste. Spectacular length. Served with wagyu beef which it complemented perfectly. So happy I have two bottles left. As good as it gets.

After minimal decanting, this was drank at a downtown restaurant. Clear and surprisingly purple for a 14 year old wine. These are quite hard to find and I quite enjoyed this treat tonight. Quite a lot of dark berries on the nose. In the glass was a wine that had those same berries but also an added mix of chocolate, caramel and small amounts of pepper. The acidity was good and the tannins were still strong. I would have thought that this was a 2-5 year old wine if I had to guess.

Don’s 50 50th birthday bash (Don's house): Smoked meat, heavy oak, tar, a hint of mint, crushed blackberries and VA. Bright acidity gives this wine a nice definition and balance. Obviously a big scale new world wine but neither cloying nor heavy. Very impressive and in optimal drinking windows. BTW, if you don’t care for VA stay away!

Still drinking wonderfully. IMO it has at least another 5+ years of real pleasure ahead.
