  • PnP, just wonderful. If you're lucky enough to still be holding these, the moment is at hand - they're positively singing right now. It's hard to believe that I paid just $16 for this upon release, and here it is now, offering me more than 100% return (at least) on my investment in terms of pleasure. Still fresh, little to no sign of age on the color. Bright red fruits, good intensity on the palate and finish. If I had any more, I'd consider keeping them another 2-4 years with the expectation I'd be drinking them at a consistently high level. Natural cork. recommended+

  • I think this wine is a solid 89 points - and low and behold so does CT general consensus (rarely does
    it work out that way).
Chosen as a happy medium to pair with steaks and mushroom risotto, a 30 minutes decant and this wine was in perfect form. Nose of sweet vanilla and dark cherry, oak, dark chocolate, and earth. Acidity medium, tannins medium but ripe and biting at the same time allowing for a firm purchase. Alcohol medium body medium and medium finish. Frankly, solid medium around the horn and yet that’s what drives this wine forward. Dependable, reliable, a go-to house wine.
This cannot happen every vintage but the 2016 is a short bet. As I told my dinner mates a 2016 Rosso can be better than a Brunello of another vintage. I feel proven correct in this case.

  • Dried fruit and cedar wood. Rather pronounced acidity and alcohol at this stage. Good structure otherwise but suggest to drink this in the near future

  • Some dried fruit and marzipan. refreshing acidity, well rounded tannins. Alcohol very noticable. Absolutely needs food like pasta with ragu.
