The spiciest wine I can ever remember opening. Funny word, that remember is
Day 2: I appreciate the more dour assessment of wines on this site, compared to not just The Usual Suspect but the allegedly less compromised touts as well, but in this instance I think they're right and Cellartracker is (ever so slightly) harsh. The Vinous and Advocate reviews seems particularly spot on; I have no idea what The Usual Suspect was smoking, er, drinking The iron and linden viburnum reminds me of Dolcetto, but the morello cherry, floral Manifest Destiny, and potting soil foreshadow Brunello to a personally unprecedented degree
The March 12th, 2022 note on the 2019 was unintentionally helpful in the formulation of this review
If rondeur's important to you, a certain creaminess comes in on days 4 & 5, with the viburnum lost but the morello more apparent

Cherries, wild strawberries, raspberries, peppermint, thyme, and a bit of tomato leaf on the nose. More forward on red berry notes on the palate, tasting ripe and supple with red cherry notes. Sweet baking spice and mint on the midpalate with a slick minerally finish. Good acidic structure with silky tannins. While not the most complex, there is still a very nice precision that makes this very enjoyable to drink. Nice, easy-drinking rosso.

What's not to like? Strong sour cherry with exciting, but not overbearing, tannins. This may last forever. Decanted some three hours at another tasting and the astringency is better contained. Best for those truly dry wine lovers.

CLassic and classy. Good structure good power. Darn good wine. A little more amped up fruit notes Brian but nobody is gonna mind.
